Is Google AdSense approval currently paused for new websites / blogs?

I would say NO because I got the approval for this blog Nets 4 - Know the Internet just 2 days ago. I write Internet-related articles on this blog.

But it indeed takes almost 2 weeks to get the approval due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Which causes a delay in the approval process.

And in rare cases, you may need to submit your request later due to COVID-19 issues and also because of the large number of applications they are receiving.

It is true that there will be delays in the process, in some cases, they may postpone the verification process.

If your approval process receives a mail regarding the COVID-19 issue, you can apply for the same domain after 3 to 4 weeks. 

Until then, you can focus on creating more unique content for your blog. And improve the traffic to your blog.
